Yamaha Music’s continuing commitment to innovation is evident in the YX2035PR; a meticulously developed 3.5-octave xylophone packed with features to accommodate the school, community, or solo mallet percussionist.

Featuring premium Pao rosa tone bars, this certified-sustainably procured West African wood emulates the physical and acoustic characteristics of the high-end, increasingly rare Rosewood, without the expense of high-end models, but with the same impressive sustainability, impact resistance, and acoustic velocity. Pao rosa is highly durable when compared to conventional tone bar materials Burmese and African Padauk.

The addition of gas lift height adjustment and enhanced mobility features also makes this model ideal for various educational and institutional settings.

Pao Rosa Tone Bars
Tone bars made of pao rosa wood offer similar physical and acoustic properties to the rosewood tone bars used on our high-end models. Tone bar width has been increased from the 33 mm dimension used on entry models to 38 mm throughout the instrument’s range, matching the tone-bar width of our high-end models.

These changes notably enhance dynamic range and provide a larger sweet spot for improved playability. The new specifications make playing easier for beginners, while also making it easy to transition to high-end models in the future.

* Pao rosa is more susceptible to cracking due to sudden temperature and humidity change than previous tone bar materials.

* Due to the action of natural elements in the wood, the surface of the tone bars might eventually become covered by white powdery residue. This will not affect the quality or performance of the product. Use a dry cloth to wipe off this residue if it appears.

Gas Spring-Type Height Adjustment Mechanism
YX2035PR features a gas spring-type height adjustment mechanism. This mechanism makes it safer and easier to handle the instrument, and makes it possible to set the instrument up to match the player’s physique. The adjustment range of 19cm makes it possible to accommodate different heights of users, which is especially beneficial for schools.

* When moving the instrument, please carry it gently to avoid any impacts. Please recheck the height after moving, as impacts may change the set height.

Distance from where the frame touches the ground to the top of the accidental tone bars Minimum height: 69 cm (A), Maximum height: 88 cm (B)

Resonator Pipe Drop Prevention Mechanism
The component receiving the pipe is built to stop the resonator pipe from dropping, even if the pipe itself moves due to vibration during transportation.

*Please refer to the instruction manual for how to install and remove the resonator pipe.

Casters
The caster diameter has been increased to Φ76 mm to make the instrument more movable.A swivel stop function has also been added to the casters, with brakes on the player side.

Drop cover included
A cover that protects the instrument from dust and scratches is provided as standard accessory.
