Yamaha’s continuing research and development, using a top-down approach, has further developed one of our pivotal models – the YCL650. The new YCL650/MK3 benefits from some of the positive feedback Yamaha has received about the VR, CSGIII, and SE Artist models.

Pisoni leather pads
After using these pads in our Custom range of clarinets, Yamaha discovered that there was improved tonal quality and response, as well as greater durability.
Improved key layout and design
For ease of playing, the E/B lever has been extended by 2mm to improve the certainty of this key's actuation.
Adjustable thumb rest with strap ring
The VR series thumb rest design has been borrowed for the YCL650/MK3 clarinet, improving the overall comfort while playing the instrument.

New logo stamp design
This is all in addition to the current design, which features the wider SE-style bore, unique barrel design which promotes efficiency, and a bell design which improves the feel, tone, and response over the break.
