Superbly Playable
Reproducing the way a drum behaves when struck is a key factor in the playability of electronic drums.

Yamaha has undertaken an exhaustive investigation of how drums respond when hit, leveraging this information to achieve a truly faithful representation of instrument behavior. Moreover, professional drummers from around the world have evaluated the performance of the DTX-PRO, allowing Yamaha to improve its expressive capabilities still more. Yamaha’s expertise as a manufacturer of music hardware has allowed them to offer combinations of expertly crafted modules and pads that deliver superb playability.

A high-performance sound engine that allows for total sound creation
The high-performance sound engine in the DTX-PRO module leverages the technologies that Yamaha has acquired over decades of making musical instruments of all kinds.

Every single channel of the DTX-PRO module has three band, sweepable EQ, channel compression (in addition to the overall kit compression), Transient Adjustment (where the Attack and Release of each sound are individually adjustable) and Insertion effects, to help let drummers recreate their favorite drum sounds.

As a complement to this, Yamaha drum pads feature pad sensing technologies that respond with precise accuracy to the actions of the player, delivering the ultimate in expressive capability that is reflected in the sound.

Reliable Yamaha Hardware
Yamaha's HS650A hi-hat stand is included with the DTX6K2-X and DTX6K3-X. All of the DTX6 Series also uses Yamaha's traditional ball clamps for snare pads, making fine adjustment of settings easy.

Yamaha is also one of the finest acoustic drum makers in the world, and its hardware is trusted by many professional drummers, for its strength, ease of use, and stability.

An extensive range of training functions to support drummers
The best practice functions featured in previous DTX models are also found in the DTX-PRO. As well as the sophisticated programmable metronome, the module offers a comprehensive recorder function, 10 training functions that are ideal for players of all standards, as well as 37 training songs that allow you to learn various genres. Beginners and professionals alike will find the DTX-PRO training functions a useful aid for daily practice.

Professional grade headphone amp
Yamaha realize that it is incredibly important that drummers can hear themselves clearly, so the DTX-PRO module comes equipped with a high precision, low distortion, low noise, and high-power headphone amplifier. This circuitry delivers high-fidelity sound directly to the player, has been developed exclusively for electronic drums, and it envelops the player in realistic drum sounds.

Cubase AI Included
The DTX-PRO comes with a download code for the latest version of "Cubase AI" the powerful music production software.

By connecting the DTX-PRO to your computer with a USB cable, all recording, editing, and mixing tasks, that are found in modern music production, can be handled by the one software program.

Drum sounds that stand out more prominently in the music
Yamaha, also a manufacturer of acoustic drums, is dedicated to creating realistic drum sounds that stand out in a song to make it more enjoyable to play.

The sound in the DTX-PRO consists of sounds recorded in world-renowned studios and with the support of renowned recording engineers.

The sound of the kits including Yamaha`s iconic Recording Custom kit has been captured and tuned to stand out not just when playing electronic drums on their own, but also when played with a band or mixed with songs.

In order to allow drummers to enjoy the sound make-up of the kit, Yamaha has condensed the know-how gained over many years of experience into the KIT MODIFIER, which consists of three knobs - AMBIENCE, COMP and EFFECT.

In some of the latest DTX-PRO firmware V2 kits, the Effect knob can now be used to adjust even realistic resonances and noises, such as shell resonances and snare wire sounds (Bleed function).

With a feeling similar to that of acoustic drums
Yamaha, also a manufacturer of acoustic drums, focuses on a playing feel similar to that of acoustic drums. The snare drum and ride cymbal are the most frequently played pads. The 12" large-diameter newly developed 3-Piezo mesh snare pad and 15" ride cymbal pad feature as standard. The snare pad and tom pads use the same hoops as acoustic drums for realistic playing feel.

The Yamaha hi-hat stand included, which is known for its quality and functionality for acoustic drums, works perfectly with the hi-hat pad and allows your to enjoy the same set up as your acoustic drums.

All cymbal pads in the DTX6K5-M are three-zone pads, which corresponds to different edge, bow and cup sounds. These cymbals can also be choked or muted by grabbing the edge of the pad. The ride cymbal offers positional sensing, altering its sound based on where it's struck. Enabled by the DTX-PRO module’s high-definition sampling, it accurately reproduces delicate cymbal play.

To enjoy drum playing for a long time
The DTX series offers tools to help you improve efficiently so that you can enjoy playing drums for a long time. The DTX-PRO module has 10 training functions unique to electronic drums.

Develop an accurate sense of rhythm with ‘Measure Break’, which allows you to mute the metronome for a set number of measures, and ‘Rhythm Gate’, which will not pronounce a note if the rhythm you hit does not match the metronome.

The training functions will help you to develop your playing, accuracy and to develop your own unique style.

The DTX Drum Score/Instructional Collection, available online, includes sheet music for over 30 songs built into the DTX-PRO. The built-in songs support tempo changes and drum sound muting, and the variety of recorded music genres allows you to learn phrases from a wide variety of musical genres. The built-in songs can also be used in combination with training functions such as ‘Rhythm Gate’, where notes are not pronounced unless the rhythm you strike matches the metronome. Kit grows with the drummer
As you grow as a drummer and want to add more pads, there is still room in the input jacks.

The DTX6 Series allows you to connect up to 14 pads. Add cymbal pads to expand your playing range by assigning splash cymbals or cowbells, or reconfigure the pad positions to play in a 1 tom, 2 floor setup - this is a kit that will grow with you.

Large pads fold compactly
We hope you'll use it every day, but when it's not in use, it can be conveniently stored compactly.

The snare drum pad has a large diameter of 12‘ and the ride cymbal pad has a diameter of 15’, but the low-profile pad design allows for compactness.
